Pooches In Pines is a group of dedicated volunteers in Pembroke Pines, FL. Founded by Angela Goodwin and Connie Freund in 2012 by partnering with an established not-for-profit 501c3 animal rescue,
Purr-fect Match Rescue, Inc.

Pooches In Pines and Purr-fect Match Rescue are committed to the mission of reuniting lost dogs and cats with their owners. When the owner cannot be located, we fully vet the animals, bath, foster and care for them in foster homes until they placed through an adoption process. Download the application online at PoochesInPines.com. Cat Applications will be emailed to you.

Pooches in Pines and Purr-fect Match Rescue, Inc. are committed to educating new owners about their animals about how to keep their pet healthy and safe, including the microchip process, and tips on how to train their pet so that the animal and their family live long, happy life together.

Purr-fect Match Rescue, Inc. (PMR) was established with the State of Florida in 2004 by Connie Freund and the Board of Directors. Over the last eight years they have rescued, fostered, reunited, or re-homed more than 600 abandoned, abused, or unwanted cats and dogs.

Our Mission is to reunite lost pets with their owners or when not possible then to find them new loving homes. In less than a year, over 135 dogs and cats have been picked up.  74 dogs were reunited with their families, and 30 dogs were given another chance at life with new loving families. 31 cats and kittens were spayed/neutered and placed in forever homes.

What we do

Animals rescued by PIP are placed in temporary foster homes, where they are cared for and given medical rehab, love, and security prior to being placed into their permanent and forever homes. The length of time an animal might spend in a foster home depends on the animals condition, and the availability of the perfect match with a new owner.

  • PIP provides their animals with all necessary shots, to include rabies, heart   worm testing, micro chipping, minor surgeries.
  • PIP spays or neuters all animals.
  • PIP provides medical records to new owners.
  • We are small group of volunteers that have full time jobs outside of the rescue. Our vet medical bills, food and supplies are solely dependent upon private donations to fund the daily operations in rescue and foster care. In today’s economy, the need for donations to fund the rescue is greater than in the past, as the amount of abandoned animals had greatly increased. The condition of the abandoned animals is more severe than we have seen in the past.

  • Your Donation will be used to Support Rescue Operations, Foster Home Care, Rehabilitation and Forever Home Adoptions.
